And four Vulcans on simultaneous quick reaction take off couldn't wake him then!

It would have woken me but then again, I wouldn't have been asleep in the first place. Still can't believe I elected to watch it on TV rather than actually go there.

Well at least there will be a final flight even if not many people get to see it first hand. With working full time, I can't keep an eye on social media to see what's going on. I will have to rely on seeing the video after the event unless I'm lucky with my timing right and get to see the live streaming.

A bit of a damp squid though. Seems the Trust's hands are tied and the airport management is holding all the cards. If the Trust is to be believed, they had plans for a proper send off but they have been vetoed.

If it's no more than a 15 minute flight, I guess that's a very light fuel load and with all that thrust being chucked out of the back of the jet pipes..... could we see a not quite 90 degree climb on rotation. That would be some farewell.

Not sure why they are doing this to be honest, its become a farce. Ok so they have 15 minutes flight time left, so what. I can see they want to make as much money from that as possible, so making a film about the final flight might be seen to be a good idea, but making that of the previous farewell tour is a far better commercial and publicity proposition, a larger audience who felt part of it. Live streaming? you need to be able to tell people when to make that work or make any money out of it.

Sorry, they have cocked this one up.

As per a previous post, I wouldn't blame the Trust entirely as they are at the mercy of the airport authorities who seem to have gone all twitchy at the thought of an army of Vulcan fans arriving at RHA to see the final flight. We also have the reaction to the Shoreham tragedy and I can't see any display being allowed at RHA as the audience is outside the airport and therefore underneath the display box. Pre Shoreham it was not unusual to get a display from her when she returned to base and as it was impossible to contain the display within the airfield perimeter, this of us down the Old Bawtry Road would get a cracking view from right underneath. Under the old rules that was fine as we weren't a paying audience but things have changed now. I appreciate that a final display could have taken place elsewhere but you would still get a large number of people at RHA wanting to see the final landing and so the Trust would still have the airport authorities to deal with regarding this.

A brief airborne meet with the Lancaster, which I understand has flown again recently, would have been fitting, but maybe too much to arrange now. As others have mentioned the weather for the rest of the week is not looking too good.

It must be better weather at Doncaster Airport than near the other end of Yorkshire - although, by the look of things, not much!

Very emotional, but my feed froze just prior to landing. Not sure if it's me or if the feed stopped.

Live feed stopped. Would have loved to see the landing.

Edit: But it was possible to watch the landing later when the streaming sorted itself out.

I jut hope they don't find themselves grounded at a closed airfield in the future......

Managed to watch it on Periscope, but it was mobile phone footage. Chute was deployed. Youtube link back up working now.

Not impressed with Planes TV. The feed froze and when it did come back all that was shown was the backs of a load of folks in hi-vis jackets and Sean Maffett mumbling to himself. Expect they'll want folks to buy their expensive DVD of the event.

Yes, sheer incompetance from Planes TV, not the first they've managed to screw up live feeds of air shows either. As someone pointed out on the live chat on the page, maybe they should rename themselves Hi Vis People TV.

Was it just my connection or was the video playing at faster than normal speed, but the commentary was at normal speed with gaps?
