Just watched one of best TV programs I've seen on channel 4 this year. Well done to Prince Harry for giving his seat up.

I for one feel privileged to have been able to attend this event, and witness the spectacle, and be truly humbled by it.

And @bakabung we too had "fun & games" getting there............ took us half an hour to go two miles to get on the A40, thanks to a coming together on the Denham roundabout - then plain sailing until we got to Goodwood.................. never mind the 4 hours it took to get home!

So, now having been suitably refreshed & relaxing, I'm now in the process of downloading the images of the day.

What a day. Easy drive down as we left Bedfordshire at 05:30. 12th car through the gate. Nightmare journey home but who cares? To have been on a BoB airfield on Battle of Britain Day 75 years on and see all those wonderful aircraft was worth all of the effort involved. Now to sort through the 750+ shots.

Only 750...:) Did your battery go flat?:D

I'll have a look at mine tomorrow but, to be honest, it was just the experience of being there that mattered. Once I heard that it had been delayed by 2 hours, the traffic didn't matter and the tortuous drive home was just an irrelevance. I have raised a toast tonight to those that made it possible and a double toast to those that gave their lives for us to be living in freedom today. Humbling, indeed.

Just for a taster here is Peter Teichman's rather splendid arrival in his Spitfire PR Mk.XI.

I know the area well and used a few back doubles but it took me just over 2.5 hours to get home. Ignored the M25 going back.

Who cares though, worth every minute of traffic jam torture. Interestingly, the local radio said that the jams were far worse than normally experienced during the Goodwood Festival, Revival etc

I too, am doing the same, and the tingles are still going down the spine.

Oh, and I've only got 650+ images to go through!

A very memorable day indeed, I'm like Spamcan, can't stand traffic Jams so left home near Aylesbury at 05.45 but the M25 was already at a crawl around Junction 19.
Very impressed that you've managed to process at least one image already Ian.
The sort of event that could only happen in this country but I was surprised that they weren't better organised in raising funds, a long walk from the prime photographic position to buy a programme, they could have sold a lot more by giving a pile of them to each stand steward.

I didn't think that there were any Mustangs at Goodwood yesterday.

Whilst the Mustang never played a part in the BoB, it replaced one of the Biggin Hill based two seat Spitfires (the one that force land a few weeks ago) at both the 18th August and Goodwood events. As it is fitted out as a two seater, it acted as a photo ship for the formation it was in.

Yesterday was the first time I've been bowled by a Hurricane. Lining up on a Spitfire and one of Sydney Camm's finest got in the way. :)
