I do hope I'm not duplicating a thread but this event will be worth attending. The Llangollen lads always put on a show and I urge anyone who has never attended a Llangollen event before to try and make it to this one! Does anyone have any idea what the surprise visitor might be?

5542 and 47406 are the guests announced elsewhere.

    Joining 6430 / 5199 / 3802 and D5310 in action (think 80072 expected back for Xmas).

No D5310 now, not enough room in the timetable with all the pick up freight and trip freight workings planned. Be a good opportunity to see 6430 on something other than Autos at a gala.

That'll be nice. The milk loading at Berwyn station was a highlight last time.

I'll be there on the Saturday, WHR gala on the Sunday.
This is the type of gala I like, small engines in keeping with the line and which have to put some effort in.

It works better with regards to transport also. 2 tank engines, or 1 tender engine for essentially the same price.

We're working towards getting it back together for November, ready for Santa season. Boiler is pretty much done now, just needs it's out of frames tests. The ashpan has been rebuilt. Inside the frames has been completely cleaned, and painted. Looks superb now. New axlebox protecting covers have been fitted to the rear driver, now made out of stainless so the wont be affected by their surroundings.

I think the 38's ticket expires in October, so this will be it's final gala appearance of it's current ticket, so catch it while you can.

Available to the public before the staff have had their working timetables. No excuses for moaning from anyone this time! ;)

Please could you say how many coaches are in the suburban set.
Also is it a long or short freight train i.e. how many wagons?
I ask so I can work out photo spots.

    Thank you.

There is currently 3 subs running.

As for the freight it will depend on what is fit to run.

I'll be the first to ask - which way round are the locos?

Also is everything [apart from the auto, obviously] still top and tailed between Carrog and Corwen, as the timetable shows the same loco each way?

    Thanks in advance.

Is the Obo' supplement paid to the guard, or do you buy tickets from the booking office?

    TIA

Only the auto and 3802 work to Corwen. Auto is obvious, 38 works with the usual manner of propelling back to Carrog with the driving van at the back. I have the joys of being Driver 2 tomorrow on it.

Everything else terminates at Carrog. A shame the obbo doesn't go down there as it has a means of a second driver being able to watch the propelling move.

I'd say it will be paid to the TTI on the obbo, but just check with the booking office when you arrive.

It doesn't look too bad does it. Hopefully it'll continue over the weekend!

Cheers for that, I didn't know you had a driving van. Any info on which way the locos face?
Agree about the weather, looking good.
