Hope there's a good attendance. The U will be expensive to bring now NYMR is paying both ways.

Won't it be in the area already as part of its tour?

Is it confirmed that SNG will not be taking part in the gala? 'Chime' magazine has said it's running the weekend before and will then be withdrawn for overhaul.

As far as I know, its "ticket" runs out on the 21st, so unless they apply for a last minute extension, then no chance it'll make the gala.

Ahh OK, I'll cancel my accommodation for the gala and go the weekend before. Thanks.

Last weekend running 19/20th September has been set in stone for sometime now. Just not cost effective to apply for an extension besides which the SNGPLT is determined to start the overhaul as soon as possible.

I notice the latest issue of Steam Railway mentions that 34092 has been requested for the gala but is not yet fully confirmed.

Realise I ask every time, but what's the plan for Battersby (if anything). Really enjoyed travelling this section this year, and much prefer the faster running!

I think it will all depend on whether they have enough locos available on the day, and whether precedence is given to freight and/or passenger shuttles or Battersby.

Checking Realtrains it looks like the NYMR have got in there first and asked for paths. They are showing on Realtrains on the Sunday as running to Battersby.

Its not the first time a charter has had to be switched due to not being able to access the Esk Valley due to NYMR running as it does. I think a WCRC went to Hartlepool and up the Durham coast to Ryhope instead when the path was not availeble. Could something similar happen, or is access to Bog Hall available now for the tour to set back into.

Time is quickly passing, just over another week until the gala and we are still no closer to having confirmation of the second visitor.

Yeah, that's seems to be the most likely. I really hope it does attend.
