Thanks for the info', I was hoping for a trip over the S&C this week with Galatea, so I'd need to know before the day.....
I got to see it from a wet Hellifield station, though the engine change doesn't take place in the platform

Is 45699 having problems again? 23 down at BleaMoor, having been 1 early at KS.

Inspired by Steve Thompson's video where she looks to be going ok, I checked out RTT. The preceding unit, the 1618 from Carlisle dropped 9 mins from KS to Blea Moor, and the next northbound unit lost 38 mins at Ribblehead not due to Galatea. That suggests signalling problems I'd have thought.

image.jpg Well, she was going great guns past Ribblehead. BUT I have never seen anything as stupid as this in my life,a man with (presumably?) his grandson stood IN the four foot on the Up line as the train passed,in full view of the Ribblehead Webcam.

If anyone wants to use/send/report this image then go ahead,I don't really have the time, but here is a screenshot of them walking back to the station after the train had passed...I mean, seriously, how stupid are some people.

Lovely shot. I was on the train and you were lucky with the sun at this location. It was a case of sunny in some of the classic locations and cloudy in others.
It was a faultless performance by Galatea and her crews throughout the day by the way.

Brother Kent Yeti is on his way south tomorrow after yet more hours gricing short eared owls in Scotland. As I am booked on the Dalesman tomorrow I have persuaded him to divert off the A65 at Settle and photograph the train near Stainforth. He has no email or Internet access and so has asked me to enquire if any of the fraternity are likely to be in the area so he can say hello. He would actually have preferred a serving wench but I told him this was unlikely. I am desperately hoping that it will be Galatea as I still need this for haulage. Good to hear from anybody likely to be in the area so I can text him

    Thanks

    Don
