Public timetables with loco roster have appeared, see link below.

Unsure why the SVR don't release a WTT for this event, at £6 a pop, it's a great revenue stream for them, and let's face it heritage railways try to fleece as much out of the gala goers these days, such as £100 for a footplate ride at another railway, so I can't see the reason for them not releasing a WTT for visitors to purchase if they still do them for the ASG.

It would be nice to know what coaches they intend on using on each service, both what type and are locals 2 or 4 coaches? Main sets 6/7/8? Knowing this allows passengers to avoid particular trains (eg after an hour gap in the morning a 2coach Bridgnorth-Highley working one ASG) if they so wish.

I think recent years have shown that the demand for WTT's in the spring is significantly lower than for the Autumn event. Add that to the inevitable several page discussion as to whether its morally reprehensible or not for the railway to charge for a WTT, and I can see why management has settled on the halfway house of timetable with loco allocation.

As for the set lengths for this particular gala, as 57xx's are limited to 6mk1/7LMS (210T?) you can safely assume that the full line set running behind 5786/L92 will either be the LMS set of 7 or restricted to 6.

Ah, but the ASG is generally a more complicated timetable and the railway does a print run of the WTTs for staff. By increasing the print run and selling the excess to the general public, the railway can recupe some (if not all) of the cost of printing them. As the SSG is a smaller affair, this doesn't happen.

After working friday and saturday, the sunday will be my day for a ride, hopefully behind the Dubdee and 4270.

They could experiment other ways though, £1 for a pdf of something that already exists? Or try something like £3 for a WSR style 'programme'. To miss out on a few £1k on something so simple is mind boggling.

For the diesel gala carriage sets are given out on the public timetable, would be nice if the SSG could be the same.

Given that people are already paying a premium price for their support of the event (as well as £3 per day for car parking) , just telling them which locos are on which trains seems little enough to offer.

For diesel gals everywhere, rosters are supplied free or nobody turns up. For steam galas though, if you expect a free roster you're branded a "freeloader"!

There is a fine line between people supporting the railway and people feeling like they've been fleeced!

Park in the field at Bridgnorth or have they woken up that the field is another source of income?

Yes but I'm referring to the 78XX event at the end of the year but this hasn't been confirmed.
