Night shoot tickets are bookable on line via the SDR website, however at this late stage I can accept payment on the night for late bookings, but places will be on a first come first served basis (still room at the moment). Shoot will take place from 18.00 until around 20.00 and feature in the main 6412, 3205 and 4566 to create a BR(WR) shed scene, with 1369, L92 and 1420 acting as background props. Lighting will be provided via our good friends at Timeline Events.

Thanks for that, booked online while sitting at Totnes Littlehempston earlier!

Weather is quite good down here so far. 6412 looks lovely, but a shame about the massive steam heating leak inside one of the autos! DSC_1155.JPG

I had a good day today. A few nice shots at the night shoot, and some nice beers at Staverton this evening. Photting tomorrow as the forecast is good. Bit of a problem with the regulator connection on the auto coaches today which meant 6412 had to run round at Totnes on one trip, but that was soon fixed.

SDR Gala update: Due to a minor problem with 4566 and the failure of 6412 tonight, there will be some reworking of the loco diagrams tomorrow. 6412 will be replaced by Class 09 D3721 on the following workings: 07.27 Buck to Bishops Bridge Light Engine (retimed to 08.00 ex Buck), 08.17 Bishops to Totnes Goods, 09.10 Totnes to Staverton Goods, and 1005 Staverton to Buck Goods.
The issue with 4566 is fairly minor and we hope to have her up and running very quickly, however if she is not ready for the first part of her diagram W55000 will work the 07.45 Buck to Totnes ecs and 08.35 Totnes to Buckfastleigh. 4566 should then work as booked.

The failure of 6412 tonight is again a minor repair but needs the loco to be out of steam so in addition to D3721 working the services as listed above, from 11.10 onwards L92 will work 6412's diagram, and then (all being well) 6412 will work L92s original diagram.
Apologies for the inconvenience and hopefully the above will not spoil what has to date been an excellent event. Many thanks to everybody who has supported us so far.

Yesterday was superb, blessed by good weather. The SDR never ceases to amaze me with its ability to come up with something new. The well stocked beer festival at Staverton, however, was a successful competitor to walking off to do lineside shots as far as I was concerned, and I contented myself with station shots at that delightful place!
