Glad you enjoyed your visit to our little railway :) You'll have to come back in a couple of years when our loco rooster has all changed and you can have a ride in the Bulleid coaches

Can I ask, and this is not meant to open up the question of trespass, but does the footpath run alongside the railway at that point. It doesn't seem well signposted on the ground as to where the footpath actually is.

I believe the walkway at the bottom of the field is a right of way so your safe. However if your standing in the middle of the field which people always do is technically trespassing.

The path and railway are properly separated, if you look back to the last page a couple of my pics show it better - the ground to the side of the railway suddenly goes down leaving the railway on its own so there aren't too many bushes in the way. I don't remember it being signposted, but was very glad I got shown there, an excellent spot.

Thanks, I have been there once before, but the implication from some comments posted after I put a link to my pictures taken from there on here was that I shouldn't have been there. Knowing the sensitivity of some of the land owners around the MHR, I didn't want to return if it would upset someone.

Changing ends at Alresford today and passing disinterested sheep a few minutes later on a miserable grey day.

Perhaps if she was painted the right colour.

However, I enjoyed an excellent day, the sun shone in the afternoon, and I discovered a very pleasant beer, Private Sector by Betteridges, thanks to the RAT barmen.

At times like this, I really wish Nat Pres had a "dislike" button :p

Don't get me wrong though, it was still lovely to see and ride behind Bittern on Saturday!

Some cracking shots there. Particularly like the shot of Cheltenham. Where was that taken from?

I attended with my son on the Saturday. The weather was the only let down although the beautiful rainbow over Ropley in the evening just before Wadebridge took the last up service was very picturesque! My picture would have been so much better if Britannia had arrived with smokebox leading.

Would love to know from the railway how they think it went? We had no trouble getting either a seat or a window as required so was thinking the numbers were down on previous galas. I did hear a couple of gents comment; "You've got to hand it to them (MHR) trying to put a gala on in February!"

I do hope it was considered to be a success and now looking forward to the ASG gala.

Thanks to all that braved the weather to put on such a good show!

The Cheltenham shot is from the footpath leading from Sun Lane along the top of the cutting down to the Bishops Sutton road....rather than going down to the fence, sty at the top of the hill and look over to the Black Barn. I wanted totake the same shot of Wadebridge on the freight, but the whole two field in front of me filled with smoke!

Seeing KristianGWR's video made me pleased that Margaret Fox and I spent a good few hours starting to clear the embankment between Bowers Grove Lane and Rookwood lane!

    Many thanks for the donation!

If they didn't go over the weekend, I'm sure they prove their worth the next time we have a sales stand out - we also attend some model rail exhibitions.

Had a great tour of your yard, safe to say you did well out of us donation wise. Think we spent more money on your stand then the rest of the railway combined :) great to see the progress you guys are making on the BY
