There's nothing wrong with the design of GWR lamp irons. I'm blaming the Fireman for putting the lamp on the wrong side of the bracket, making it noticeably off-centre. It looks naff!

Surprised if there isn't a Western set somewhere at Loughborough with a resident Hall in bits in the shed.

I have to say I have 2 great memories of the TPO at GC 1st one involved 61994 storming through Quorn making a lovely noise, whistle sounding was fantastic. Second one was in 2012 when the Jinty came through with the goods, buffers clanking then Brit 13 came storming through absolute magic! Probley the closest you could get to witnessing what the real railway was like.

Have to say the top lamp dosnt look quite right on 7820! In a recent issue of Steam Railway though there was a lovely photo of an 8f coming down Dainton with its WR lamp tied to the smokebox door handrail because it wouldnt fit on a 'normal' lamp bracket.

Video from me, with pictures to follow.

I must say what an enjoyable event as ever with the GC, nice surprise to see the Jinty having some turns in the afternoon making the line up up to 9 in steam + DMU. The 8F looked magnificent and it was great to see uniformed rakes, were did those Chocolate/Cream Mk1's come from?
