The word 'back' is misleading as I don't believe it has been in a temporary livery before.

    I'll get my coat...

70013 'Oliver Cromwel'l is definitely facing north, don't know about the two visitors but all the others from the home fleet are facing south (I think). Light dusting of snow this afternoon, but nothing serious.

Will be surprised if Ollie, stays facing North for the gala, as that would take it out of the running for the TPO's. Not sure whether 7820 or 1501 have been given permission to be used on the TPO !

I don't think they can turn anything at the moment as the turntable is out of action, so 70013 will have to stay facing north.

Could always go for a trip round the car park on a low loader delivering one of the visitors.

9466 did it at a gala a few years ago. Was incongruous but looked great fun!

A lazy fireman, or one with no regard for fine details! It is a very minor thing, but it does spoil an otherwise excellent image for me.

Has 1501 been rostered for a TPO? I really would love to see that!

After a lot of processing last night another image from the day . 70013 on a down Woodford to Annesley Runner passing Kinchley Lane

The foreground was in full sun , but the loco and background still in a bit of cloud . In Film it would have been a nightmare but careful adjustment produced this which I'm rather pleased with

So are you blaming the fireman for the fact that GWR lamp irons are different to those of other railways?

Many thanks to those who posted photos or links to them. I regret that I was really looking forward to attending the Gala this year but snow at home first thing this morning coupled with the weather forecast for the weekend resulted in a total wimp-out for me - must be my age! I'm very grateful to you folks who share the results of your photo skills with us. Roll on Spring!
