Beautiful day up here, view from the top of Beeston Castle stunning in all directions. Exhaust from Bittern spotted by the keen eyed miles away so plenty of warning she was on her way, quite a few none train folk around so sound track has off camera noises. but that's what you get at that sort of location. %s passed the other way a bit late but going briskly as there was a Voyager following. Video being worked on at the moment.

Just be sure everyone that even though I've liked that above photo, I still strongly disapprove of a sharp pointy thing being allowed on a Midland Region route like that.

    ;)

But so far as a photo is concerned it has captured the moment very well. IMHO.

Likewise Ralph. My effort is currently uploading slowly. Might be finished in about 4 hours time...

Please excuse the quality as my seven year old took this hand held . What it hopefully captures is the atmosphere of the departure of 4464 Bittern from Rugby as it hides @ADB968008 with its drain cocks

No need for excuses, it's a lot better than some of the stuff we see on YT. You must be teaching him well....

Here's a couple of pictures from the day... (I'll put the Duchess in the Duchess's thread).

Exchanging whistles at Rugby as Duchess of Sutherland arrives, and 4464 departs.
(above the noise of the Duchess's insessant blowing off, you can hear the A4 slip at least 3 times..)
the LNER departure from Rugby was a real show compared to the pony ride of the Duchess (but the Duchess did only have a single yellow though) :)
I'm not biased towards A4s over Duchesses really .. as my daughter says.. Gordon the express engine is always blue.

    4464 passing Long Buckby..

The Rugby..First.. the disappointment.. 46233 arrives hidden behind a freight... but then luckily the freight leaves and a pendo joins in...

    Then the departure

There was a huge turn out for this today (everyone wanted that Rugby shot), but all along the southern WCML too

The rather nice sight that greeted me first thing this morning before I headed up to Birmingham for the model show at the NEC (I didn't bother with 46233, since the shot at Brum Int'l doesn't inspire me one bit!).

Great video, Mr K, but you really ought to invest in a new calendar - Saturday 24th November ????!!!
