The correct expression is "to be sold DOWN the river". Selling something UP the river implies the opposite....

Perhaps he meant that he was going to be UP s**t creek without an LSP.

Depends on the size of your tank engine and it's bunker doors!

A sad loss. His web site is still live-

    http://chriswhitetickets.yolasite.com

I wonder for how long? It has a lot of fascinating information on ticket production and I hope someone will make sure it is archived somehow. Perhaps as a Wikipedia article ??

This is exposing the mentality of the fanatical photter. The Railway does not exist for their entertainment.

It wouldn't break my heart if all LSPs were stopped.

My name will most certainly not be on one of those tickets , TBH I couldn't imagine anything worse , a full train ( very good for WSR ) not being able to freely move about but my biggest grievance would be , I don't like large express locos trundling along at 25 mph max . Give me a large Prairie any day . However , I do hope all goes well for the WSR and for those who do take the trip behind FS .

    Well

    I think the

    Penalty for
    Trespassing
    On Company
    Property

should be increased from Forty Shillings to £2.10.0d.

    That'd fix 'em.

Some good news which has not appeared here yet is the entry into traffic of TSO 4875, the third wheelchair-accessible coach on the WSR It has been out-shopped in blood and custard, bringing the total in these colours now to 4. It means each of the 3 main sets now permit wheelchair-bound passengers to sit in a coach rather than the brake van. For photos, see the latest pictures page of wsr.org.uk

I rode in it yesterday. Finished to the usual high standard. Well done all concrned. The disabled loo at MH has also been refurbished to a very high standard and is no longer shared with baby changers.

Nah! Far too lenient. I suggest £2,000 and/or 6 months in one of the lineside huts.:D:D:D

    I wouldn't mind 6 months in a lineside hut

As I did only yesterday. While "knocking a bit down" ready to make my fire up. The amount of dust in our current coal makes it hold up in the bunker quite a bit. (BTW before anybody says anything I burnt more than my fair share of dust yesterday. It's fine if you fire it while there is a good "pull" on the fire.)
5199 is proving to be quite a capable performer currently with 6 on.

    Here is my method,
    1) open rear window
    2) place lamp in window
    3) use outside bunker steps to ascend into bunker.
    4) place lamp on top bracket.

a bit of a phaf but ok on the current timetable. Getting in through the bunker doors may be possible at end of season but I'll confess to a decent girth at this point in the season which would make it impossible.
