    Hi Everyone.

I'd be interested to see any Pictures of my friends station at Finmere, where he is trying to rebuild part of the GC, before HS2 has a chance to wipe it off the face of the earth. I know he has some EMU's and a couple of locos, but there is very little current information on how Pete is getting on.

Looks like Pete and Gordon are doing a good job of keeping people out. I'll have to drop them a line, and see when it's OK to visit.

It'll be great while it lasts. But (yes there's a but sadly!)

As soon as HS2 comes along, smack! It's goodnight vienna for finmere as the route is directly through the station site. Anybody know what their plans are for the rolling stock & locos etc that's on sight that'll need new homes in future?

The NSE group will come up with something for CIG 1753 & could even at a pinch if the owner agreed take 73130 with them. That way it'd have a means of being used push pull on another line.

  7. Is this based in hard, factual info or is it just speculation on your part?

Just speculation, not saying it will happen only an idea sorry if I've caused any offence.

  9. No offence caused, but please always qualify speculation with "I hope...", "I think it would be good if..." or even the dreaded "Wouldn't it be nice..." etc.

We all know how quickly idle internet gossip becomes believed as 'fact' (with negative knock-on effect to the owners of sites or rolling stock) because people aren't careful about what they say or how they say it.

Maybe you could approach the owner of Finmere, ask them about their plans post-HS2 and report back with what they have said? It would contribute more to the debate and give you a bit of kudos to boot?

But finding a line even with motor powered stock is hard, the EPB group had 4 MLVs and still couldn't find somewhere to base all of the stock. The group need to find a home for 2x 2-EPBs and its loose rolling stock. What ever happens good luck because if they loose the Cig, that will be a crying shame as its one of only two left.
