    Works Open Day
Bank Holiday Weekend 29th-31st August 2009

The Golden Valley Light Railway will be running all three days the Works Open Day event run by the Midland Railway Butterley. Frequent passenger trains will be run with locos swapping throughout the day.

Locomotives in use on the passenger trains will be:

    TDA CIVIL No.1 “Joan”
    SIMPLEX T CLASS 101T020 “Ellison”
    SIMPLEX 60S364 “Cambells Brick Works”
    Baguley Drewery 3753 “Darcy”

And possibly SIMPLEX 40SD529 if overhaul is complete in time.

A locomotive cavalcade commencing at 3pm each day will see all our working locos (and ones fit to be dragged) running with freight wagons appropriate to their past industrial life.

More of this highly successful event can be found on the Midland Railway – Butterley’s website: http://www.midlandrailwaycentre.co.uk/English/openday.html
