    Hi All

I have received the following message from Geoff Coward :-
'This photo of 61008 at Preston bears no resemblance to preston at all, the
only thing that seems to match is the station nameboard which ends in ton. I
know B1\'s did get to Preston but the station was almost totally covered and
some of the roof should be visible in this shot'.

Can anyone confirm this as Preston?

61008 was allocated to 26B Agecroft at this time, so it could be a Lancashire station. I don't think it's Preston or Bolton.

KUDU was a regular working around the Manchester area, I seemed to see it all over the place, in fact I actually have a model of it on the wall, it could be preston arriving from the East lancashire lines?

Could be arriving at the East Lancs platform closest to the goods shed? Can't think of anywhere else it might be..... not Warrington!

Its on an RH curve which is correct but as you say there seems to be a lot of space where there should not be!

Please excuse me copying your picture, however I can confirm it's Preston.

I took the image and zoomed it by 300%, I then took the section of the windows of the Signal box, and Mirrored it..

the results can be seen below:

    http://gallery.national-preservation.co ... =0&pos=-70

The reflection in the box window says "PRESTON"

Well spotted ! Actually, now its been pointed out, you can see it on the picture without enlargement #-o

But it now throws up the point - is it a signal box? from memory there were none on platforms 1 or 10. Even the signalling map found here

    http://www.prestonstation.org.uk/

doesn't help much ! We need an expert ! What part of Preston station is it ?

It takes some seeing though, doesn't it?
