    Hi All

I have added a photo to the GWR Pre grouping collection, which was given to me by Colin Williams of ex GWR 0-6-0 849 at Oswestry, it is wearing the BR logo on the tender, can anyone give me what class it was and possible date?

The loco is a Cambrian Railways 15 Class 'Large Belpaire Goods'. 849 being built by Beyer-Peacock and originally carrying Cambrian number 29. Can't help with any dates on this, but the livery would suggest early 1950s and it seems that the class were already being withdrawn before nationalisation.

849, allong with a hand full of other Cambrian Machines appeared in the 1951 Ian Allan ABC, but not the 1959 one, so that gives you an 8 year window. Some one else will have to help if you want to narrow it down more.

849 was withdrawn during September 1954 along with 855 and 895. These three were last of Class.
