Oh dear! I can foresee another thread where the real information about visiting locos for next year's gala gets submerged in pages of speculation and wish lists!

What strikes me about your wishlist is that it's highly unrealistic and would be extortionate to implement. That aside, 46115 doesn't 'do' pres lines, neither do I recall 35028 doing a preserved line recently...

Serious question, has 35028 ever done preserved lines? I vaguely remember riding behind it 15 + years ago, but can't find any photos or other evidence to support my hazy memory.

4965 and 5043 have not been on a preserved line and I do not expect that to change.

What strikes me about it is the number of threads it starts...

There is a limit on spending for events such as the WSR galas in these difficult financial times on visiting locos - the hire costs of the ones you mention plus associated transport fees would probably blow the whole of next years budget for special events plus some! If and big if they were available

Lets enjoy the Autumn Gala first (I am looking forward to that very much as first time I have been able to get away this year) and then see what heppens next year in due course.

As the WSR and SVR 2013 spring galas clash, I doubt the SVR would release 43106, unless they arranged a swap and got something interesting in return (7828 or 34046, for example).

As has already been stated, Tyseley don't hire locos to preserved lines and neither do WCRC (with one notable exception, as 5972 has been to the GWSR). That leaves 61994, which would be a possible.

34067 has also been loaned to Swanage on a one off event.
But agreed, is there a need for this thread?

No wonder that railway enthusiasts are seen by some as 'away with the fairies'! It was practical realism and hard work that got preservation where it is. Roll up our sleeves time; or at least appreciate what is on offer in the autumn!
