Crewe Diesel Preservation Group and The Weardale Railway are currently planning a running weekend at Weardale using 47192 and 47712. This is currently planned for the 6th and 7th of February, further information will be posted as soon as details are finalised. There are four return trips planned each day, with a double run round halfway through the day. The trains are planned to run from Stanhope to just short of Bishop Auckland, a distance of approximately 14 miles.

Details have been finalised for the running day with 47192 (D1842) and 47712 on the 6th and 7th of February.

Three trains will run on each day, the departure times will be 1000, 1230 and 1515 from Stanhope Station. The length of run will be 16 ½ miles from Stanhope to Broken Banks just short of Bishop Auckland station. Unfortunately trains are precluded from running into Bishop Auckland due to the condition of the track and formation just before the station.

The loco’s will change ends between the second and third run on each day to even out the share of the work The loco that only does one run on Saturday afternoon will do the first two runs on Sunday (the return run from Bishop Auckland to Stanhope being uphill nearly all the way).
As it stands at the moment 47712 will start Saturday off on the end leading to Bishop Auckland with 47192 returning the train to Stanhope.
