all services between scotland and london have been suspended, I was at Lancaster station at 16.30 when an announcement was made to this effect, apparently a southbound train ran into a tree between Oxenholme and Penrith, passengers travelling from north to south or vice versa were advised to travel tomorrow and their tickets would be valid. not yet mentioned on 6pm news. too concerned with footballers and volcano's.

well its not toally closed. just services from scotland to london and vice versa are suspended.

Apart from a few minor routes in the west of Scotland, most of the country North of the border is closed down.
