All:- Apologies for the very late notice on this one but......

This weekend at Apedale will be the Last Chance to See the War Office Locomotive Trust’s (WOLT) 460 Hunslet no.1215. This loco was imported from Australia in 2005, and has been displayed at a variety of locations, most recently at the Moseley Railway Trust’s Apedale site.
The WOLT will be announcing details of their restoration plan for the locomotive in due course, but we expect that dismantling prior to moving the locomotive off-site will take place in the very near future.

To assist WOLT with this, we will be having a major shunt at Apedale. Therefore, this Saturday afternoon will represent the Last Chance to see this locomotive intact and available to the public for some time.

We will try to have the loco on display from about 1400 to about 1700, but obviously exact times will depend on how the day goes.

There won’t be a charge but the collections tins will be rattled in the direction of visitors, and we’ll try to have a supply of the Oakwood book on the loco’s history available. Visitors should come to the station building adjacent to the Apedale Heritage Centre.

    Regards,

    Simon Lomax
    Moseley Railway Trust.
