Has this tour gone ahead despite the tube strike?
Decided not to venture out as I may not be able to make it back into work.

Yes - saw it trundling through Clapham Junction. As ever "Clan Line" was immaculate - shiny buffers, shiny couplings, the whole shebang!

Wandering off-topic a little... I've recently been copying some cine film of Clan Line. She went to Swindon works in about 1986 for all sorts of "heavy" repairs (tyres turned, smokebox door repaired, trailing Bissel-truck overhauled) and yet, when she's pulled out of the shed to be lifted by two cranes, to have the wheels replaced, she glints in the sun as though fresh out of the paint shop!

BTW, it's the MNLPS AGM at Sheffield Park this Saturday. I'll be down there (with the Steam Age Pictures market stall!) - any other MNLPS members here going? The BB loco roster says Archie will be running. \:D/

Sadly not me, heading for Northumberland that day.

Painting '28 regularly is part of the process of keeping the sparkle.

A friend and myself saw her go through Iver on the GW mainline, around 5mins early. She certainly wasn't hanging around!
