    Good Evening from Tyseley,

Looking forward to welcoming those of you travelling on The Mayflower to Plymouth tomorrow.

The train will be formed as follows departing Birmingham New Street:

    Class 20s - Tourist (J)- Tourist (H)- Tourist (G)- Tourist (F)- Tourist (E)- Buffet Car (Z)- Bar Car/ First Class Compartments (A)- Pullman (D)- Pullman (C)- Pullman (B)- First Class (P)

Vintage Trains hosts will be in place at pick up stations to assist you.

The train will reverse at Bristol East Depot, where BR (W) Castle Class No. 7029 and GWR Castle class no. 5043 will be attached for the run to Plymouth.

At Plymouth, the Castles will be turned and run round the train, so that Tourist Class leads back to Birmingham.

We are unable to accommodate any walk on fares west of Bristol, but do have limited availability for anyone interested in the Class 20s between Birmingham and Bristol/ return. Please find the Tour Manager in Coach Z.

See everyone tomorrow , for what should be a memorable day.

    Joe

Castles wrong routed into 12 at BTM where they do not fit. Reversed behind the signal and rerouted into 15, slight delay.

Not sure if it’s just the feeds we are looking at but we have left! RTT/Traksy/Opentime trains still have the train at Plymouth!
I made it 24 at the summit of Hemerdon, currently around Aish crossover

Yes, a great sight through Newton Abbot. Hopefully the same at Tiverton Parkway where I'm off to now.

Known systems issue west of Bristol showing all trains not moving since about 1600.

A nice run to Plymouth within the operating glitches that signallers created for themselves.

The arrival of the train from Bristol East was third time lucky for getting the Castles into a platform where they wouldn't take a cylinder off. So we were late away.

Held at Bristol West bizarrely and also checked behind a train at Highbridge but still made Taunton in 51 minutes. Sweet over Whiteball and took the banks in our stride with around 460 tons gross. 31 on Dainton and 35 on Rattery.

A pretty tidy 64.5 min from PLY to EXD. 24 over Hemerdon and 31 up Dainton. 58 up Whiteball with both Castles working within themselves.. Speedy over the Levels until we got stuck behind a stopper from Weston-super-Mare that also dropped time.

    A great day though.

Was quite a slow arrival for fair reason! Feel bad for the people joining at BTM who were told the platform had been altered to 12 from 6 and then from 12 to 15!

Two of mine from today's tour. West bound approaching Teignmouth in bright light and east bound in beautiful evening light at Cockwood Harbour with the sun mercifully above a huge cloud. A fantastic sight in Devon today.
