Polish national news is running news of a train derailment at Chabowka in Poland.

Edit: 7.36pm (It is the whole train and quite substantial but it did not involve steam as initially shown on TVN)

All entrance and exit to Chabowka station tonight, northbound and southbound and shed (where the steam fleet is held) is cut off due to derailment of a train on arrival from Zakopane, the 1600 Zakopane to Warsaw service.

Images show quite a spectacular derailment of the whole train and locomotive all wheels and substantial damage to the coaches, just before the bridge at the entrance to the station and parralell to the steam shed. It has occured at reasonable speed taking all the rails and point work behind it!

This has obviously terminated all trains for the next few days and means some locally planned New Years steam workings to Zakopane will now not happen as everything is literally stuck in shed !

The news initially showed stock footage of ol49-59 from Wolsztyn and switched to an uploaded picture of the electric !.. Ol49-59 isnt normally found in Chabowka, but the shed does now do Wolsztyn's heavy maintenace.

    TV pictures coming in now.

EU07-116 and all coaches (some quite badly damaged).. the train has come around the Steam Shed from the south and as approaching the river bridge to the station has derailed separating locomotive from train (the loco may have bounced off the metalwork of the bridge).
Some coaches damaged ends, all derailed, quite some mess no casualties luckily, but would they would looked to have a lucky escape from the Aerial footage.

The coaches appear to have stopped along side the steam shed (indeed you can see some of the steam fleet in the back ground on shed) in the approach to the station, news suggests the train was arriving at the station too fast for the point work.
