The replica Peppercorn-designed ‘Pacific’ will be running on the Sheffield Park-East Grinstead line on May 25-29, although further details regarding the ‘A1’s’ visit have yet to be finalised.

It will be a busy spring for Tornado – which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year – as Apple Green 4-6-2 has already been confirmed to visit both the North Yorkshire Moors, East Lancashire and Nene Valley railways ahead of its visit to the Sussex line.

No. 60163 will be the headline act at the NYMR’s season-opening event on March 3-11 (excluding March 9) before heading over to Bury where it is booked to stay March 29-April 2. It will be Tornado’s first visit to the ELR since 2010.

The ‘A1’ will then make a return visit to the Nene Valley Railway on May 5-7 for the line’s ‘Tornado 10’ event, which will celebrate the locomotive’s historic milestone.

Prior to its visit to the Peterborough line, No. 60163 will haul its first public 90mph-certified railtour – the Kings Cross-York and return ‘Ebor Flyer’ on April 14.
