Looking at the trailer that followed this weekend's Top Gear it looks like they are going to be playing trains again but not with steam... this time it looks like diesel and petrol engines. Watch the next couple of episodes?

Yes, they did a lot of filming on the G.C.R. There's a pic of a car with a "train" of four caravans on the track at Quorn in this weeks Loughborough Echo, the GCR newsletter reported that filming took place at all four stations and various points in between. On air at 8pm Sunday 17th July I believe.

Or Ben Collins. There's a preview of the episode (with a other bits of the episode.) on TopGear.com. In a small clip James May seemed quite happy that they were going to a Railway.

The synopsis for this episode says the team investigate ways of making train travel cheaper and more fun.

Maybe not the Stig but the Stig's Train Driving Cousin is a possibliity such as Big Stig, Janet Stig Porter, Rig Stig etc from some other challenges.

It certainly looks like an XJS in the preview, im not quite sure that it would be able to pull very much with nearly 300BHP at the rear wheel's. Just a shame that they chose a car that survives in so few a numbers, the amount of XJS's surviving is now considerably lower than the iconic E-Type!

Well they didn't actually wreck the XJS but not sure how easy it would be to put back to road use.

largely faked of course, most of what they did simply wouldnt be allowed. Quite entertaining though and it has made me determined to go to almost Loughborough or nearly Leicester one day soon.
