To Mid Hants Footplate staff Talyllyn visit

    Several mid hants footplate staff use this site so here is an opportunity for them.

    Following the recent visit of Talyllyn people to the Mid-Hants, an exchange weekend has been organised by the Talyllyn Railway in mid-wales for Mid-Hants Enginemen. This will be on Saturday & Sunday 21st & 22nd July 2007. Our people will be able to help prepare their engines and then have footplate rides. There is talk of some double-heading especially for us, and rumour has it I will be firing one of these on the Saturday. Accommodation will be provided in their volunteer hostel at Tywyn Wharf station. In the evening there will be chance to explore the nightlife in Tywyn, perhaps even going to both pubs. There are some places up for grabs due to some people cancelling at the last minute. Please let me know if you are interested. Only mid hants footplate staff need apply.
