I paid a Bank Holiday visit to the Threlkeld Quarry & Mining Museum, which had their Bagnall 'Sir Tom' in action. What a delightful site and one I would recommend to anyone visiting the Lakes, and a lovely informative tour around a replica underground mine. A while the line is short its a nice steeply graded line up to the top quarry, I shall definitely be back for the Steam Gala in July.

I agree - Well worth a visit - including the underground tour.
