I did wonder if TWSSE trains were 'fill-ins' for when RTC's Weymouth trips couldn't run due to "Olympic extras" taking up paths.

Interesting that if these are indeed replacements for the Weymouth itinery that 5029 is not included in the pool considering it has been the main motive power for the Weymouth's the last 2 years.

Jeez........ I count approx 97 Steam Hauled RTC excursions in the 2012 day trip brouchure, thats without the Great briton and the other holiday trips by service train.

Optimistic planning by RTC ? ....................................................

IIRC, 5029 will be based at Bristol. These trains start from Paddington so presumably will use a loco from Southall.

There must be plenty of passing places on the WSR (it is years since I have been) if they can path these in the peak season!

  8. There's a path in both directions at those times.

New passing places would always be welcome :)

    Existing passing places:
    Bishops Lydeard
    Crowcombe
    Williton
    Blue Anchor

Plus the timetable at WSR isn't as intense on Saturdays as during the week.
