Back in the late 90s this superb looking engine were in service. Sadly it has been out of working order for many years now ,but maybe one day.....:)

It seems to be stuck in the insolvent works at Ceske Velenice. No one seems to know what is going on :-(

Super vid Knut, thanks for posting it. I always thought there was a bit of A4 and Streamlined Princess Coronation in there somewhere!

There is of course the SSN's 01 1075, still in active service. It doesn't have the streamlining, but has been re-converted back to coal firing.
Here's a cab ride video of it leaving Rotterdam Centraal (then being rebuilt, see Timmy Dunn's report in the last series) and entering new the 3km 4 track Willemsspoortunnel under the river Maas.

To begin with the SSN was prohibited from traversing it by steam; after a while the door opened a crack and in the video a 6400 diesel provides the traction to avoid smoke emissions, but just before the end there is a steep slope back up and you can see the driver open the regulator :)
Yes, there are several railway tunnels in Holland!

Sad to hear that this loco is now in limbo. I saw it "on parade" in the Budapest cavalcade in July 1996 and it did look impressive.

Here it is adout to leave Budapest Keleti station for Germany and home two days later.

I guess that streamlining it was easier to do than backdating a Merchant Navy.

I wonder what they did to the feedwater heater and the smokebox to get the streamlining back on, with the new boiler.
They looked odd immediately after the war, with the streamlining missing.
