Right guys, Sorry about the delay in posting this -

Our star guests for 2009 will be Port of Par Bagnalls "Alfred and Judy" from the Bodmin and Wenford Railway.

These will be joined by "Renishaw Ironworks No.6", "Sir Cecil A. Cochrane" and National Coal Board No.49.

It is hoped that "Twizell No.3" will be posed outside Marley Hill Engine Shed, throughout the Friday Photographic Evening and Main Gala Weekend.

The timetable is nearly confirmed and lookout for various loco diagrams, passenger, mixed trains, coal trains and an unusual last train service (TBC)!

We are hoping that more can be done for our Photographic Evening - with various cameo scenes and the smaller engines posed outside Marley Hill 5 road shed, with the larger outside Marley Hill Engine Shed, finished off by a 6 loco lineup across the front - remember only £7.50, 6pm - 10pm, Friday 11th Sept!

Elsewhere across the site for the Main Gala Event; Model Railway Exhibitions, Trade Stands, North Eastern Meccano, Forge, Wheel Lathe, Guided Tours, Sunniside Local History Society, Black5 steam railway art, Saltwell Park Model Boat Club, North East Bus Preservation, Sunderland Classic Cars, Durham County Council, Model Engineers and hopefully a few traction engines etc pottering about!

SO A NOT TO BE MISSED INDUSTRIAL GALA WEEKEND!

Will the tours break into the three road shed to allow folk to view its hidden gems ?

Sorry guys for the rather quietness amongst us, but its all hands on deck and it seems like every spare minute is spent on organising.

The timetable "SHOULD" be published - that was a hint to mk1hater to put it on the web!!!
However the earlier comment regarding the last train will not happen this year due to carriage formation adjustments - but hey maybe next year!

The historic vehicle display is totting up nicely, with over 50 vehicles now confirmed as attending, so that should nicely fill up East Tanfield car park! We've also had the confirmation of a few more model layouts, Malham, Sealane, Capolmoor & Burnyard and Ladyjane Colliery. This nicely makes Marley Hill Carriage Shed on the Full Mark. But there maybe a few others still to come ... We are also hoping for a few local traction engines, road rollers and steam waggons attending.

We are also in talks with the "Steam Bus Company" from the lake district, for the hire of their Sentinel Steam Bus "MARTHA" for the weekend, seems as it is visiting Beamish Museum the weekend previous. Final discussions will take place this friday, so watch this space ...

We are hoping to open up both the 5 road shed and possibly the 3 road (if we can find the key) to the public.

    Under 2 weeks left guys!!

    Watchdog.

Question, if East Tanfield is full of display vehicles, what plans for car parking?

    Thanks

We have managed to have the attendance of one of our Expert Car Parkers who will be craming cars into our main car park! If that becomes full (which it will! hopefully), we have hired the field opposite the railway which will act as an overflow.

Tickets are now going to be sold from the entrance onto site - so no waiting in the shop! Straight onto your train ...

    Tickets available are an
"All Day Rover" - allowing unlimited travel and entrance to all site displays
    Family £26, Adult £10, Child £6, Senior Citizen £8, Under 5 FREE

    OR
an "All Day Wander" - allowing ONLY entrance to site displays,
    Adult £3, Child £2, Senior Citizen £2.

Sorry for the delay in updating the web, mk1haters having problems with his computer software.

Remember to grab your OFFICIAL "Legends of Industry" 2009 Gala brochure from the railways shops and trains.

We are still looking for the key Glenalmond ........
