True, I'd forgotten as I've missed the past few years events.

Personally I'm looking forward to the Hymek, it'll be nice when D7029 is finished.

I think D7076 is going to be epic. I'm going for all 3 days. They're posing the 2 next to each other on the Wednesday evening before the gala as a photo event. D7029 should have been cosmetically restored by then!

Tidied up are the words used on WNXX, rather than cosmetically restored.

Yes, it will be pushing it for D7029 to be looking ex-works. I think work worn is likely to be its appearance.

Is 7029 still missing a Cab at one end?

Don't think so anymore, but most of it is hidden under a tarpaulin most of the time

I know this isn't really the right place o ask this but couldn't the D7076 boys let D7029 have their other York hospital engine, which I believe is almost startable? It would hurry things along and 2 locos could have 2 prime movers each to swap around instead of 1 having 3.

I think 7029 needs a bit more than just a power unit replacment though mate. All that time spent outside I would liken it to the 43106 of the Diesel world. Its a seriously big job.

I'm sure the engine has been put back in anyway, I seem to remember hearing/reading it. It'll be all the other things like transmission and electrics that need sorting out.

EDIT: Yep, just check the SVR forum and the engine went back in July 2014

As well as trying to keep a thousand on the mainline and having a Clayton to look after, then there's the 800 to overhaul!

Oh. Yes. I realise there's a lot more to it than the prime mover. I can't believe how much they have managed to do in the last year.

It has to big enough to take a power unit out of a loco so yeah it's big...still it's tidied up the place.
    Or 84G or 2P depending whether it's pre-1961, 1961-63 or post 1963

20059 wears an 85D shedplate so if its good enough for Mr Price and co... I know why its a big old piece of tin but it still looks impressive. At last the diesel boys have somthing to rival Bridgo MPD. Have the WLA contributed or are they still happy to stay in Shropshire? 2015-01-03 13.00.21.jpg
