At long last we've done some work which we can photograph and display. The pictures below show the first stage in the colour-light signal demonstration we're setting up.

We hope to have the whole demonstration working by our Easter Day Open Afternoon on the 24th of April. But we're also open on the 10th April when you'll be able to see a little more working.

Thanks for the compliments - we, of course, have had to work all through the winter! You'll notice some other improvements when you next come.

    Update

Sunday last (July 3rd) some 70 members and guests gathered to watch Lord Faulkner (Chairman of the Heritage Railway Association) unveil the plaque commemorating our National Railway Heritage Award in 2010 for the restoration of the box:

The Colour Light demonstration is complete:

Not visible but inside the box we have now completed connections to the new computer simulator interface - just got another 100 connections to make to instruments and levers at the other end of the cables!

Prior to the Heritage Open Days on the 10th/11th September we painted up our colour light signals:[IMG]

On display during the Heritage Open Days a member provided a wonderful display of BR Totems from local stations:

(If anyone has the missing totem he'd love to hear from you!)

And outside a local company was demonstrating garden railway models:

Unfortunately only some 330 people came to see us, compared to 600+ last year; the local council seems to have slipped up on getting publicity material circulated.
