Southampton/Solent Shipping August 2018.

    Thoroughly enjoyed my recent 4 day sojourn photographing Southampton/ Solent shipping. Whether it was in early morning spectacular lighting or dull/grey/rainy afternoons, there was much pleasure and relaxation to be had from watching ships that pass. As always, much respect/admiration for those who work on board.

    Those are excellent pictures, John. The below is nothing like the quality, and I hope you don't mind me 'hijacking' the thread, but here is a rather different view - I think of the Queen Victoria. Taken in August.

    Thanks Steven! I assume you were on a flight taking off from Southampton? The 'Vicky' looks quite nice from that angle :)

    Arriving at Southampton - from Guernsy. I presume it was due to wind direction that the runway was being used the opposite way on our return to the outward - which meant no aerial shot of Eastleigh Works (I hadn't the camera ready when we landed over it on the outward!).
