    I have added 3 new photos of BR Std 9F’s to the collection of photos taken at Barry Scrapyard, including the loco that got cut up 92085, which kickstarted the preservationists to buy more locos

    92085 Barry Scrapyard The loco lasted at Barry until 1980 when it was one of a pair that was cut up. This spurred many preservation projects to purchase the remainder of the Barry hulks

    No I do not currently volunteer
    As you indicate Neil - A single 9F was dismantled by Woodhams at Barry in March 1965 - 92232. When 92085 was scrapped in 1980 it looked in much better nick than others - 92245 for example which had no pony wheels at this point.

    Collection of photos taken at Birds Tremains Scrap Yard Bridgend 1966

    82004 with class 47 D1671 'Thor' which was damaged beyond repair in a fatal accident at Bridgend when less than a year old, on 17/12/1965.
