Anyone got the guts to tell Liz or Phil not to stick their heads out the window?

Are they TnT'd? I do hope they put the sloped one on the front.

The BBC says that the cheese shaped one is on the front. Nothing said about what is on the back and as HRH is only going one way, it hardly needs steam on the back, but I'm only guessing.

More seriously. Are any of Her Majesty's loyal subjects on here heading North today to record the passing of this train?

I know there will be lots of news coverage, but that is usually not in the same class as the top quality vids and photos we see here.

Could put a CBE in it for the best shots today?

And guys and girls, gritted teeth today in advance for the usual faux pas we will get over the locomotives from the media. They will be trying to do their best.

Well the BBC reporter on Breakfast said that ".....the train will be pulled by the steam locomotive Union of South Africa" or WTTE. So pretty good so far.

Looks like a test for next years Royal Duchys and the challenge of the GWR banks. Two LNER pacifics and 3 coaches. Reckon that should be ok.

On BBC Scotland last night they asked one gent on the footplate what it was like to drive, his response 'Don't know, I'm the fireman' :)

I would have gone north of the border to film it, but my Rabies jab is out of date. (or was it a Rab C jab?) can't remember.

Hopefully the two moderators monitoring this thread today are suitable dressed for the occasion?
