Saw this mentioned on the Romney Blog but couldn't find the details on the railway's main site... One of my family is keen to try and get down for either the opening day of Romney Warren Halt or at least one of the shuttle days later in the week, mainly to get in some Bug mileage. The timetable link on the RHDR site shows the standard timetable, but I wondered if any of the Romney people on here could tell me when the Warren Halt shuttles will run as they're not on there? (Unless I'm being daft and clicking the wrong thing). Are they all going to be Bug-hauled, and do they return 'wrong line'? Thanks in advance.

I have advised the RHDR General Manager of the lack of public info for this service, he says he is dealing with it now 12:31 140209.

Check back to the RHDR website soon. =D>

Thanks Alan, that's much appreciated and we can plan a trip down now.

Is the Bug out next Sunday as well? I'm guessing that as the shuttles are running it, but the roster on the blog only goes up to Saturday.

I've not had the completed roster for week commencing 22/2, but from the draft copy i've seen shows version B of the green timetable in operation, which includes Warren Shuttles

Is this new halt on the main running line, or is it on a spur from it?

I can go one better, lol.
This shot was taken in November last year with the Halt Completed but not opened. Showing the location close to the A259 Warren Bridge.
Taken from the morning Track Patrol running on the UP line towards New Romney (Wrong Line due to a P.Way possession)

Great to see the 'Romney doing well, will this halt be open all the time or only on special days, and will all trains stop there, or as a request stop or more shuttles from New Romney?

As far as i know, only shuttle trains will stop there. The platform is only on the up line and not long enough for a standard set.

    hi

It looks like it is open most peak season days.

I was lucky - managed to get a ride on the bug before if failed - they had to use PW2!!

From the draft copy of the 2009 timetable, warren shuttles will run on selected green (hourly) service days only, not pink (40 minute) service days.

What happened to The Bug? I had no problems with her on Saturday, and are you sure you mean PW2? - None of the PW locos are vacuum fitted and therefore cannot be used on passenger trains

    ?????

Having spent all day on Saturday and Sunday at the RH&DR the loco was in service, and no reported failures during the week AFAIK.

Also as Tim posted above the Shuttles only run on Green Service days (selected not all) There is a full list in the 2009 Timetable (certainly is in the PDF version I have anyway) and I believe the printed version is now available. - February: Thursday 19th - Sunday 22nd, March: Sunday 15th Saturday 28th, April: Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th, Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th, May: Sunday 31st, June: Saturday 6th & Sunday 7th, Sunday 21st, Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th, July: Tuesday 7th, Tuesday 14th, September: Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th.
    Hourly departures From New Romney @ 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00 & 15:00, Returning from Warren Halt @ 11:10, 12:10, 13:10, 14:10 & 15:10.

The only fault reported in the loco fault book for loco 4 on 22nd Feb was a bolt missing from the sliding door on the ashpan, AFAIK from reading the loco fault book (on 28th Feb) the loco was not declared a failure.

Just for reference here is what PW2 looks like, it has since been repainted into WD livery, but can be seen from the photo that there are no vacuum connections and the couplings have been welded up to prevent it being used to haul anything
