No one came to say hello at Wigan. Anyone going to Preston Show this weekend? Give us a wave on Stainmore Summit (the layout that is, not on the A66 on the way over!)

I'm back in Darlington for this week, still not sure when I'm back in Preston (it'll either be Saturday or Sunday) so I will be ummy-ahhy on if I'm going. Could have been a different weekend.. [-( :(

And nice to meet you Ralph. The other guy who arrived at the same time as you, is John Fletcher who runs the Grosmont Shed Shop. He hails from Preston (as you may just have gathered!) and used to be a fireman at Lostock Hall shed. He has a fund of stories but does tend to attarct all the attention. He was involved in the very end of steam and fired one of the very last timetabled steam trips. He also was interviewed buy a young, red haired reporter from the local paper (in a mini skirt) by the name of Anne Robinson! And he has the photo to prove it.

Thanks for the kind words about the layout.
