Here are the paths for Saturday with No.9.

Stock coming down from Southall early in morning via Bristol East:
    http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/U54645/2018/12/01/advanced

Diesel to Newton Abbot Hackney Yard:
    http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/U54646/2018/12/01/advanced

    Train to Plymouth:
    http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/U54647/2018/12/01/advanced

    No 9 to Laira:
    http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/U54648/2018/12/01/advanced
    Return to Plymouth Station:
    http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/U54649/2018/12/01/advanced

    Train to Bristol Temple Meads:
    http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/U54650/2018/12/01/advanced

Diesel to Exeter St Davids P6:
    http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/U54651/2018/12/01/advanced

    Return from BRI to Southall:
    http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/U54652/2018/12/01/advanced

Following the paths in the evening, the diesel is due from Hackney Yard into EXD P6 4 mins after the train and there is no path out for it.

So I guess it will be attached for the return to Bristol Temple Meads. Perhaps 'The Man' can confirm this. Shouldn't be any need to assist. 9+Class 47 is only load 13 and Class 8's have done Whiteball with 13.

You'd think that if the A4 gets up Hemerdon and Dainton without a banker it should be able to get up Whiteball. I guess it's a pathing issue? Good to see that WCRC are covering themselves by stationing the diesel at Newton Abbot presumably in case of any problems on the banks.

Just watched on the webcam, a couple of minutes late waiting for a Cross Country and a local service - very nice!

Bit of reflection from the screen, but snapped this with the phone!

I can thank NP for that not happening to me - got the Adblocker on - only way I could put up with continuing to use this site, but I do feel rather guilty using non-commercial sites like the webcams that rely on Advertising revenue for survival.

Wow! For an engine that's approaching the end of her current mainline ticket, she sounds and looks wonderful. A credit to her owner, support crew and the last round of 'fettling' by Rileys!

My video of The Plymouth Christmas Market rail tour with 60009 Union of South Africa. Taken at Whiteball, Dainton and Hemerdon. The last clip is taken in the dark at the bottom of the climb to Hemerdon, there may not be much to see but plenty of sound!

Glad to see No 9 made it over the banks in both directions with no assistance. I thought it was a bit of a risk on a very wet day (says he sat on his sofa in Surrey) but good to be proved wrong. Well done to whoever was at the regulator.
