Photography ideas at Epping Ongar Railway

    No I do not currently volunteer
    I'm planning to visit Epping & Ongar Railway on New Year's Day, to help an autistic teenager with his train photography. As I've not visited the railway before, would appreciate any suggestions on good photographic locations or opportunities. Are the shed or signal box accessible?

    There’s not many I’m afraid. The line is mostly a green tunnel.

    Unless things have changed a lot since I was last there in 2015, the only photographic locations are on the platforms and there are very, very, few off-platform locations. I think the only way to photograph what is in the loco yard is to do it from the train as it passes.

    I last visited in 2015 for a Gala and photo charter afterwards, and I would agree with the above.

    Sorry, I was thinking more around the stations rather than lineside. The footbridge at North Weald looks nice for framing. Can you access the shed area, or any stored locos?

    It was not acessable in 2015, and I would be suprised it this has changed.
