    Timetable for the 3 days above;

To reflect the history of this closure we have the following locomotives scheduled to be working on this weekend:

    K4 2-6-0 61994 ‘The Great Marquess’
This loco worked the special on the last day in 1965.

    K1 2-6-0 62005
Also worked the special on the last day in 1965.

    B1 4-6-0 61264
This loco is the last type of steam loco that was in regular use at the time of closure.

    A4 4-6-2 60007 ‘Sir Nigel Gresley’
This is the loco’s last season before withdrawal for overhaul.

    Std 4 2-6-0 76079
Recently returned to service after overhaul (on standby).

    Cl 101 DMU
A similar type of Diesel Multiple Unit that worked the last train in 1965.

    Class 25 D7628
This type of loco would also have been seen on the line around the time of the closure.

Looks good - I went to the Autumn Steam Gala last September and it's a long way from Cornwall, but I can see myself heading north again for this!

Are there likely to be other steam engines attending?

Aren't the ones listed in the OP enough? I'd be really glad to see the standby loco 76079 working, although not at the expense of one of the others failing!

Here we go. Did I say they weren't enough? Having said that, this is National Preservation so I knew someone would take offence.

Just wondering if loco allocations for Friday 6th are available at all? Looking at a quick nip down for the morning, would be interested to see what's on which service.

    Thanks in advance!

Are there likely to be NYMR services between Whitby and Battersby?

Is 61264 really likely to be ready for this gala? I heard from two of its support crew that there was a problem in obtaining some parts for it.

I would accept no locomotives in exchange for relaying Pickering to Rillington Junction!

Despite the valiant efforts of her owners, I gather the B1 won't make it, so the line up is 60007, 61994 and 62005 along with 45428 and 76079. Ironically, pre-1965, 45428 probably was the most commonly seen of those on the lines! (Summer specials from West Yorkshire). DMU also in action.

Yeah thats what I was thinking. Shame about the B1 but the group looking after her should know that shes been in fine form.

With regards that special Pullman service - is that going all the way to Whitby? As Id guess thats the one the K4 and K1 will take.
