    Hi All,

We're just putting the finishing touches to the Nene Valley's Mail by Rail event for this year.

It will feature both Tornado and City of Peterborough as well as our extensive road and rail Royal Mail vehicle collection.

On the Saturday evening we are holding a photo charter to raise funds for the restoration of the TPOs on the NVR. This will feature a number of mail drops with Tornado, followed by a number of staged scenes loading the mail onto the train and sorting it on the train itself. Places for this are strictly limited and the price for the evening photo shoot is £50.

For more details on the event you can visit http://www.nightmail.org.uk/news/mailbyrail

Just to add to this, during the day Tornado will only be pulling the TPO set during the day. The tickets can be booked in advance at http://www.nvr.org.uk/events/tornado-grand-rail-mail-event

We also will have the Luton Model Railway Club's diorama of the Great Train Robbery on display.

There are still a number of places available on the photo charter if anyone is interested.

Following our steam gala last weekend, the Mail by Rail Event is shaping up to also be a good weekend.

Tornado will be hauling mail drops at 11.30, 13.15 and 15.00. Passengers travel in the TPOs to Sutton Cross, about half a mile down the line, and then disembark. The loco will then do a series of three mail drops shuttling backwards and forwards. A small additional charge applies to travel on these trains.

Also recently added to list of attractions include two Morris J Vans, a Morris Minor van and three Banthams motorcycles

There will also be tours at Wansford to see the restoration progress on M30272M, the last remaining coach of the Great Train Robbery. Tours start at 10.45 and 12.15 from the Station Masters Office on Platform 2.

At Ferry Meadows we have a cab from a modern class 325 electric multiple unit on display as well as a vehicle from the mysterious London Post Office Railway amongst other exhibits. You can also see the progress on the museum which we are planning on building on site. A tour of the site will start at 14.05 each day from Ferry Meadows Station. We recommend those travelling take the 13.50 from Wansford (Train tickets will be required).
