Time for the updates to restart, TBH I've dragged my feet in getting a new photo site because I hoped that fotopic would return, but I actually like flickr more. Hopefully next weeks update will be a bit more have some more photos on as none of the ones I got overlooking the works were any good.

A more substantial update, Flying Scotsman's tender has had the rear wheel set fitted and preparations were well under way to fit the front one. Tornado's frames are visible and 55002 looks finished but I'm certain there's still quite a job list to mash through!

Time for an update, Dominion of New Zealand/Bittern is in the car park looking great, D6700 is running and Tornado is been reassembled following the steam test. Both Flying Scotsman's & Tornado's tenders are in for attention, Flying Scotsman's has been partially rubbed down & Tornado's is now in plain green for whatever reason.

Surprising really, considering its not exactly small and stands by the prep. bay.

Well, next time you take the train north out of York, look to your left(of course) as you pass the museum.
Alternatively, when in the museum, look through the window into the yard by the 'Flying Scotsman exhibition'.

Here she is, viewed through the little windows at the end of the 'Scotsman' display. A shame that this area isn't more publicly visible really, this was the best shot I could manage.

There, you see. The water tower. Thanks for putting photo on.
GER parachute water tower came from Broxbourne in Hertfordshire. Not sure when it arrived at the museum, sometime in the late eighties I think.

The headline is that Tornado's repaint is finished and she's been unveiled and in other (non BR) livery news, Flying Scotsman's tender has been lettered. I wonder how many livery-fundamentalists will be present for Flying Scotsman's unveiling later this month!
