The Night Mail Museum at the Nene Valley Railway is a joint venture between The International Railway Preservation Society and The Friends of M30272M. The site will include museum and complex housing many of our rare TPO and Wagons-Lits vehicles at Ferry Meadows as well as separate sheds for overhauling coaches. In the immediate term, this includes a running shed and workshop facilities, though in future will include a more specialised museum building and archive.

We are also working closely with the British Postal Museum and Archive and are taking a number of vehicles on loan. Last week we took delivery of a 2ft gauge unit from the London Post Office Railway. No 807 was built in 1930. We are also shortly to take delivery of a Karrier tractor and trailer unit. This is a travelling post office, but not as most rail enthusiasts know it! This vehicle will be used not only as an exhibit, but also as an onsite shop. It is our intention to unveil both vehicles at the NVR’s Rail Mail Weekend on 13th/14th July.

For more information see the IRPS website here.
