News Update: FIRST UK RAIL CLASS 56 ENTERS SERVICE

    UK Rail Leasing, a new locomotive operating company, has told Railway Herald of its plans for expansion and reintroduction of its fleet of Type 5 locomotives.

    The company owns a total of 15 Class 56 locomotives, four of which are currently being worked on to return them to operational condition, while a fifth locomotive, has become the first of the fleet to enter traffic, being handed over to Freightliner last week.
    Full details on the plans, following an interview with UKRL Managing Director Mark Winter, can be found in this weeks Railway Herald (Issue 433) due to be published on Wednesday.
