This one is proving interesting!!! From the thread for nominations it was viewed that it would be a two horse race between Lyd and the WHR. However, it seems so far as voting goes that only the WHR is in the running and an outsider (from the predictions when the shortlist was made) is actually in the lead with 39.44% of all votes. As I say most Interesting!!!

A bit late now, I know, but surely Lyd's launch (not relaunch) and its visit to Woody Bay should have been one choice - you can't have the second without the first...

I did notice the launch/relaunch error but the poll cannot be edited (there was also an E that krept on to the end of the Bluebell 50th option on the Gala of the year poll and an extra "O" on the SKLR re-opening on this poll which I wouldn't of minded getting rid of but it can't be done). As for two options for Lyd this was done because for some the launch of a new engine might be their moment and for others their moment was seeing authentic (or an authentic replica) engine back on the L&B hence why both were included.

    2nd - WHR Caernarfon to Porthmadog Re-opening
1st - Moseley Railway Trust opening the Apedale Valley Railway

Thank you to everyone who voted!!!

Thank you to everyone who voted for the MRT. When can we expect the cheque? I shall start drafting the acceptance speech.

Not sure of the MRT facts, but £26m+ for 25miles or small but well formed with lots of interesting stuff, quite interesting to see such different projects run so close together.

Why is this still sticky? Is it not time for the 2011 NG moment?

    Quite right, Andrew!

I guess if the 2010 vote was taken again you would possibly see a reversal of order but it was interesting to see two projects of totally different magnitude so closely tied.

For 2011, how about the return of "Marchlyn" for a kick off - or LBNGR's Coffee-pot fest? Only suggestions at this stage!!

    Over to you, Pete

I would go with those two Ian as I was lucky enough to see both, but would also add the return to steam of Talyllyn No.2 "Dolgoch" and the TR's 60th anniversary celebrations.

How about the Corris Railway's No.7 visiting the TR - first ever visiting steam locomotive to the railway.

I think the whhr test train on the rhe has to rate as one of the most long awaited sights in narrow gauge this year.
