Did anyone else attend this fantastic event in Farnham on Sunday (25-1-09)? A stunning collection of cars were out in tribute to Racing Driver Mike Hawthorn with Damon Hill and Stirling Moss in attendance amongst others. A great afternoon. A few of the 200 or so pictures I took:mhparferrari1.JPG[/attachment:2ah8go39]damon hill.JPG[/attachment:2ah8go39]mhjag+ferrari.JPG[/attachment:2ah8go39]

Thanks. There were a lot of people in the area that did not know about the event. A lot of people in the crowds were merely passing by or shopping and did not know what was going on.

Regarding the one with Stirling Moss in I believe a 'C' type Jag, but I could be wrong, isn't that his sister Pat with him, also famous in the 60's as a rally driver who married Eric Carlsson of Saab fame.

Indeed it is a C type Jag, they drove those to and from Le Mans for the 24 hr race, and yes it is Pat with him.

Below is a picture of Sir Stirling with Sir Jack Brabham and Roy Salvadori taken in 03, not too far from where you live, at the 50th anniversary of the Gold cup.

Wish I was back home for the weekend. Elstead to Farnham is a lot shorter than Turin to Farnham!
