No I do not currently volunteer
Heres one that has always got me thinking, did the MNLPS ever give thought to acquiring another MN from Barry ? And if they had, as an additional engine to Clan line ?And what engine would they have gone for ?
    Your thoughts please

I'm just an ordinary member of MNLPS and not qualified to give a definitive answer but I would have thought that a small preservation group like MNLPS has enough on it's plate in keeping one MN on the main line. I think they have worked wonders over the years just doing that and it must be remembered that, despite the lucrative Belmond contract there was still a cash shortfall for last year's overhaul.

Couldn't agree more. The nearest to an exception I would make is that a spare boiler is a great thing to have ready to go straight on.
The Bluebell have two and intelligently use them.
