As part of the railway's effort to build up a rake of period coaches, LMS TO 27162 has arrived from Shildon. It will join 27001 and 999504. Some of you may recall this coach being at Wirksworth briefly for a time last year and since then it has been completely reskinned with new windows and repainted into maroon. There is currently no interior but has received new gangway connections.

This coach, along with the Inspection Saloon, will be on display in Platform 1 at Wirksworth at this weekends Easter Event. The LMSCA, who are looking after the coaches, will also be present to give tours inside the coaches and answer questions

Is this out of RRNE Shildon or Locomotion?

Out of interest that is now two LMSCA carriages at Wirksworth and not Peak Rail . Does this mark a change of focus and maybe location for the LMSCA .

Now can we get the 4F for opening ?

I don't know if it is a change of focus, more the spreading of wings. The locomotive for the opening has already been sourced and booked but I cannot say what it is.

It was lovely to see the coach on display and interesting to see that it is basically a blank canvas inside. Was slightly disappointed to hear that there are no plans to reinstate the onboard toilets as a Duffield return trip would be over 1hr long and they may be needed. It was also an interesting paint job!
