    Friday 11th - Sunday 13th September.

    Looks like loco's will be:

6430 - Running with two autocoaches

    5643

    44806

3802 - Subject to completion of repairs

80072 - Again subject to completion of repairs and paint job.

And 78019 - visiting from the Great Central Railway.

Also on the cards is ex LMS (not lner) jinty 47298, but completion of boiler repairs are not yet complete.

The buffets will be stocked with the finest real ales that North Wales has to offer...

It's certainly clocking up some low-loader miles, as it's off to Embsay later.

Not a hope of 7298 appearing. The boiler is still in the shop, minus tubes & smokebox.
The standard tank is having a minor remedial job done on a bogie wheelset bearing & a quick coat of paint.
The 2-8-0 should be ready as it's getting put back together rapidly.

What was the problem with the 2-8-0?

3802 was discovered to have a cracked axle when she came out of traffic for repairs last winter. It has taken this long for the new axle to arrive and the rest of the repairs to be completed.

    Any news on the timetable?

And I can't seem to remember whether you have to purchase the working timetable?

Plus, where can you book tickets for the Saturday?

No idea what's happening with the timetable, though last year it wasn't released till the week before. Normally its just the actual train times with whatever loco(s) are operating the individual services, and is available to download off the website.

Advanced booking is not something that seems to be done for Steam Galas for some reason. Normally day rover is around £16-£18 IIRC which you buy on the day.

I don't think any sort of ticket can be purchased from Glyn. Only Llangollen and Carrog have the electronic ticket machines.

Also for those interested, as the set allocations have been missed on the public timetable, the Saturday afternoon / evening trains with the Thompson buffet - real ale bar, are the following departures from Llan:

    13.00 - with the black 5 and standard 4
    16.00 - the black 5
    18.25 - the black 5 again!
21.05 - the standard 4 and black 5 for a bit of variety!!!
