I'm surprised to see no mention of the KWVR diesel gala this weekend on this thread. Or have I just missed it on another?? :noidea:

The weather looks to be good too!

50026 suffered a traction motor flashover. As of approx 5.30 Friday due to some sterling work by the owner & reps the cause is understood and there is a good chance it will be running(with the motor isolated) on Saturday.

    No guarantees of course.

I visited on Saturday - told that 50026 wouldn't be running. 20031 (a 20 anyway, I never was good with numbers) replaced her and to be honest KWVR has enough of its own diesels to make a very worthwhile (no pun intended) gala. Friendly Yorkshire welcome, always a good day out.

Gala was great. 50026 made it through the day on Sunday without issue, other than being down 2 motors and misfiring on a cylinder when under heavy load. 33103 sounded sick but made it all weekend. The 20, 25 and 31 all battling for noisiest diesel of the weekend.

The 20 certainly made itself heard whilst it was hauling the first train out of Keighley on Saturday with six coaches full of people and 50026 to pull/push! (50026 didn't seem to be working at all during some sections of the journey)
